Sports That Holiday Makers Might Like To Try Out On A Vacation To La Manga

If you are hiring out one of the lots of delightful La Manga apartments this year, then what activities may perhaps you aim to be enjoying whilst you are on your well deserved break? There are a lot of activities to be seeing and doing that take advantage of the magnificent weather. The climate in La Manga provides a typical 320 days of sunshine each year, especially little rain and average temperatures that vary from 10 Celsius in winter to 35, even 40 Celsius, in the summer. But mix this with the low humidity and the cooling summer breeze off the Mediterranean Sea, and you have a perfect vacation destination to go to enjoy the local activities without feeling extremely hot or cold.

The formerly activity you might want to try out is swimming in the sea. On one side of the 21km strip is the Mediterranean Sea, but on the other side of the narrow strip that forms La Manga is the Mar Menor – or the Little Sea. This Mar Menor is formed by the peninsular of La Manga cutting off a trivial quarter of the Mediterranean Sea, and although technically it still remains part of the Mediterranean, there is exceptionally little flow between them, so the Mar Menor retains its incredibly own conditions.

The Mar Menor is basically a considerable salt water lake. The maximum depth is basically over 6 meters, with an average depth of 3.5 meters throughout. Although out of depth for paddlers, this helps to permit the sun to heat up the patch of water more than the deeper Mediterranean Sea.

The Mar Menor, and in a few the mud on certain beaches, is reputed to have health giving qualities and for this reason many visitors and locals alike will visit the beaches, cover themselves in this mud and try for themselves to see if it does indeed rejuvenate the skin.

Having access to two different seas, it would come as no surprise that water sports take a chief role in the activities on offer. Sailing, deep sea fishing, kayaking, surfing, swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving, kite-surfing and windsurfing are all presented to those who wish to try them out.

There is, of course, the well known golf courses of the area, should that be your intention whilst at your carefully selected apartment in La Manga. There are three different 18 hole championship courses in the area offering 12 months round playing for golfing enthusiasts. There are also smaller courses, down to the pitch and putt, for those who don’t want such a difficult challenge.

For those wanting to familiarity culture, there is Cartagena to visit near by, or further afield go to the provincial capital of Murcia, around 40 miles away. stacks to see and do whilst on a summer or winter holiday.
