The program will sponsor murals depicting Canadian life, and Olympic themes, to be placed on the walls of all the International airports in Canada, including Toronto Pearson. The Olympic themes are related to the upcoming 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Gamers , which will be taking place in Vancover , Canada.
In an effort to increase excitement related to the upcoming games, Air Canada recently unveiled a 258′ by ’51 foot Olympic mural along the glass wall of Toronto Pearson Airport’s Terminal 1 main hall.The mural is as large as a football field, and the third largest in Canada.
More exciting sports events are lined up for Toronto, even as Canada gets ready for the 2010 Winter Olympic games. Recently, the Toronto 2015 Pan / Parapan American Games team has won the bid for the Pan American Games, which will be held in the Toronto Region. The Airport is expecting an estimated 10,000 plus athletes and 250,000 spectators will be visiting the Toronto area, most coming in by air.
The airport president, Llyod McCoomb has already announced that with 50 direct flights daily from South America, Toronto Pearson will be more than ready to handle to influx of visitors for the events.
