Bangsaen Beach (Thailand) – A Vacation That You Will Longer Remember

Bangsaen beach has long been the preferred coastal getaway for Bangkok residents, but it has recently transformed itself in to a fully fledged international resort too. It is now attracting visitors from all around the world, who are enticed by the prospect of spending their vacation in a beautiful, peaceful coastal town.

You will mainly find couples and families at Bangsaen beach. You can completely avoid the backpackers that have over-run the south of Thailand, and the large groups of beer guzzling guys that head to Pattaya. What Bangsaen beach offers is a safe and fun environment; it is the type of place that you would be happy to take your grandparents to.

However, Bangsaen beach is not at all boring. You can sunbathe on the beach, do water-sports, go shopping, watch movies, etc. Put simply, it is somewhere to relax in peace and quiet. The fact that so many non-Thais have bought property in Bangsaen is testament to this.

If you are planning to stay for less than a month, then you do not need to arrange a visa, as you will be given a free one on arrival at the airport. For stays of a longer than a month then you will need to get a tourist visa from a Thai consulate in your home country. A tourist visa is valid for up to 3 months and costs less than $50.

If you are wondering when is the best time to visit Bangsaen beach, then aim for December to February. Expect the temperature to break the 90 degree mark every day, so be sure to pack lots of sun-tan lotion!
