As It’s Nearly Valentines Day, Why Not Take A Romantic UK Short Break With Your Partner?

Now with Valentines Day but a matter of a few weeks away, thoughts of romance are in the air.

To be honest, it’s pretty much the only time of the year when hubby and I do try to spend a few days away together.

Previously, we have been very lucky with some of the places we have visited. UK Short Breaks can be fantastic, but you do have to be careful that you don’t get ripped off.

For instance last year we stayed at a few different Hotels In Wales. It was amazing how much the hotels varied in comfort, so this year it has been decided that we want it to just be the 2 of us, so we are looking at cosy cottages.

Already, I have made a start on researching where to stay. I have searched on various search engines for cottage holidays in Wales, weekend breaks in Wales, Holiday Cottages Wales, etc. etc.

Some of the places showing up have been absolutely fantastic and there are some really stunning cottages out there for rental. However, I would advise caution when booking. You really must make sure that you read all the terms and conditions when booking your cottage, otherwise you might end up being charged for more than you bargained for.

For instance there was one company in particular who charged extra for everything including electric, gas, firewood for the open fire, towels, bedding and so the list continued. It’s astounding that you can actually get charged for bedding. If I have already paid money to rent the cottage, I really wouldn’t expect to have to pay additional money for renting linen.

As it stands, I haven’t actually booked anything yet.

It doesn’t look like it is going to be a great Valentines Day for me this year. At the moment, there is a huge debate in our house about where to actually go. I especially love the Brecon Beacon area. There is just so much space there and the Welsh people are absolutely fantastic.

My husband on the other hand absolutely adores Scotland because they have such wonderful golf courses, so unless we can reach some sort of compromise, I can’t see our romantic break happening at all!
